In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”) and Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Augusta County will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.

Augusta County is committed to providing physical and digital accessibility for the widest possible audience. We welcome comments on how to improve our technology or physical spaces for users of all abilities.

Process for Accessibility Requests or Concerns

Augusta County has established the following process for providing an opportunity to resolve requests for accommodations or complaints with the County’s provision of services, activities or programs.

Accommodation requests and/or complaints may be in regard to concerns such as:

  • Webpages or digital services with accessibility problems
  • Services that will lead to effective communication in order for a qualified person with a disability to participate equally in a county program, service, or activity, including requests for sign language interpreters, documents in alternative formats, and assistive listening systems.
  • Suggestions for modifications to policies or procedures to ensure equal opportunity
  • Physical accessibility to a building or facility
  • General accessibility feedback

For employment-related issues/requests, the human resources department policy guides that process and should be discussed with the HR department.
