Updates on SNAP Benefits - to be disbursed this week to recipients (Nov. 10, 2025)
Following new federal guidance, we anticipate that 65% of SNAP benefits will be issued no later than Thursday, Nov.13, 2025.
Virginia will pause the issuance of Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) benefits to ensure full compliance with federal requirements.

Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) – Federal Government Shutdown (Oct. 27, 2025)
A state initiative will provide emergency food assistance in November while benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are disrupted due to the federal government shutdown.

Criminals are stealing SNAP EBT and P-EBT card information, but you can take action to protect your benefits.
- Change your PIN often and choose digits that no one can guess. Avoid using publicly available numbers like birthdays or addresses.
- Use only the official ConnectEBT app or web portal, and lock your card after each purchase.
- Check your balance daily to catch any unusual activity.
- Do not respond to any unsolicited text messages about your EBT account.
