Augusta County Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE-Augusta)

VCE connects Virginia’s land-grant universities with communities to provide evidence-based resources that promote safe, healthy, and resilient communities.  VCE-Augusta serves Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro by delivering research-based education from Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

Programs and Services

4-H Youth Development: Augusta County has a strong 4-H youth program.  With a strong in-school program and over a dozen clubs and competition teams, 4-H helps youth build skills and reach their full potential. 

Agriculture & Natural Resources: Agriculture remains Augusta County’s #1 industry, ranking second in the state of Virginia in value of agricultural products sold.  Agriculture Agents provide information to residents and producers on commercial agriculture, land management, gardening, and forestry. 

 

July 4th Holiday

The Government Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, 2024.

All offices in the Government Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, 2024, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. 

Normal business hours will resume on Monday, July 8. 

The Augusta County Regional Landfill and the convenience sites will be closed on July 4 and will open during normal business hours on July 5.
